Unfortunately got a ring custom made here. Just a plain rose gold band. Picked up the ring and it had a light cloud-like blemish on the outside as well as the inside of the ring, as well as what I can only describe as pock marks on the inside of the ring. I brought the ring back and asked them to remove the blemish. When I got the ring back, I was assured it was now flawless. I looked at it and yes the cloud-like blemish had been polished out (so much so that the ring now had a distinctly "not quite full moon" lopsided look to it), but now a light coloured line was in its place. I brought it back yet again and was told it was the "join mark" and that no, nothing could be done about it because it was rose gold. I immediately took it to another jeweller and was told that no, rose gold should not have a join mark, and they were able to bring my ring to the perfection I had initially expected. Only use Vanessa Jewelers if you or your loved one is blind and won't notice an imperfect ring.
Wasnt impressed with the craftsmanship. Had custom peices done and they were/are aysmmetrical and irregular looking. Even ring resizing seems to have been done without care to ensure band is even. Scrapes and damage to the side of my engagement band too which I am not happy about. Given the poor workmanship and lack of attention to detail I am hesitant to go back to get the work revised. Not cheap to have work done here either. Save your money and go somewhere else.Update:Rings were repaired and work was fixed. However, I still wouldnt recommend going here due to the less than ideal experience I had (which is a shame) because I would love to give them a good review :(
I went in to have a gemstone mounted into a pendant for my girlfriend. Unlike some other jewelry stores I have been to I really felt welcome here. I spoke to them about what I wanted done and they game me their input and ideas with out trying to up sell. When it came to the price they were honest and straight foreword. To top this off the work was done very quickly. I had quotes from other stores saying it would take anywhere from 6-8 weeks to have a simple pendant setting done. It was done here in 4 days (I went in on Friday and picked it up the following Tuesday). I would recommend Vanessa's they are a wonderful locally owned business.
Had a gold ring repaired- new stone put in and claws repaired and they polished it up nicely. Also had the broken face replaced on a watch. Both repairs done well, quickly and for reasonable price. Very happy.
