Work Safe BC needed to be replaced by a private section insurance company. The staff at Work Safe BC are rude (most likely because they are a crown corporation.) I talked to a receptionist on the phone and I have never talked to someone so rude in all my live, I was shocked. They never return phone calls when they say they will... absolutely terrible staff.

Personally never had an issue with Worksafe. Some officers may present like having a god-given entitlement, but I am yet to meet any of them. Thus far I have been in communication with WSBC numerous times and nearly every time they have responded to my questions quickly, professionally, and thoroughly. They have had a strong precedent of hiring people with better people skills and communication in recent years as opposed to the old WCB.

Pro's:-Having insurance for your workers is good.-The premiums aren't terribly high.Cons:-You can not choose to have 3rd party insurance instead.-They do not respond to most of your emails/requests.-It is mandatory, but they don't contact you and tell you this even if you are registered with many other departments of the Government.-If they do, they will back bill you for multiple years (up to 6), even if they will not honor back claims. To dispute this, you must first pay the back billed amount and go through the usual governmental paperwork which will likely be denied.Other notes:-Their website is not even on a governmental domain. Conclusion:They are very frustrating to deal with, and if they were any other business that wanted to conduct business (services for payment) with your own, you would simply say no to them and search for another option. Since they are governmental, you will have no choice but to fall in line with their heavily skewed, in their favor, system.Have fun!
