Extremely helpful and friendly staff. A variety of items, reasonably organized, ranging from pristine to a little beaten up. We have furnished quite a bit of our new home from here.
This place is interesting in that it has a wide variety of items. Sometimes the prices seem excessive for what the items are, while other times things seem like a bargain. There are many vintage items that would be hard to find other places. They have many different categories including but not limited to vintage china, kitchenware, carpets, furniture, jewellery, some accessories, and some children's toys. There is also artwork and small sculptures and random items. It can get very busy here, so sometimes it is difficult to get assistance from the staff, whereas other times service is easy to obtain. I always enjoy looking around here.
Good Things is probably the best consignment store in Victoria. They have a wide selection of items for your home or personal use. The stock is constantly changing, as it is a consignment store and new items are arriving (and leaving with happy customers), every day.Aside from the excellent choices and pricing, one of the best features about Good Things, is the staff. They are very friendly, fun, welcoming, and they are forever busy, whenever I stop by the store. The store sells some furniture (not mattresses), lamps, framed art, books, kitchen items, dishware, jewelry, gifts, antiques, bedding, handbags, hats, and so much more. Aside from hats, scarves and fur coats during the winter season, the store doesn't carry clothing. You simply never know what you might find. I have found a number of unique items, including a hand forged, steel shield (armour). You never know what you will find, but you can be sure that the store will only accept and sell, items that are in good condition. If you want to sell items at Good Things, note that they will accept up to 12 or 15 items a day, without the need for pre-booking an appointment. If you are bringing more items than that, then an appointment is required. You might want to call ahead of time in any event, because they sometimes will stop accepting items on a particular day, if they have already accepted a large amount of stock.
I've been a customer at Good Things for years and have always enjoyed going there because of neat inventory and friendly staff. After the way I was treated today by one of the female staff...I will never return. I was inadvertently in her way because another customer wanted to pet my puppy who was on a short leash. She was coming from behind me with a bench (I didn't see her) and aggressively told me to move out of the way and that I shouldn't stop in the middle of the doorway. There were so many ways she could have approached me. I've never been treated so rudely while in a store in my life. Her attitude was unprovoked and not necessary. You ruined a "Good Thing" lady. Customer service is not your strong suit.
Was able to sell some paintings. Nice to know they are being enjoyed by someone else. Helpful staff explain process. Be prepared to wait in line to be served and then wait for your cash. It took several weeks for my items to sell. Fun place to browse.
